Is it a formal set up?
No. The Begin Bright program incorporates both ‘carpet time’
and sitting at group tables. The children will spend some time in a group on the
floor in stories and group activities, but will also spend some time at child size
tables being encouraged to use the correct pencil grip, and to sit up straight with
their feet flat on the floor. Learning the correct techniques now, will help the
children to develop good habits for their schooling.
Will my child be bored once
they start school?
The purpose of this program is to ensure the children have a solid
foundation in literacy and numeracy prior to entering the classroom. Rather than
being bored, by having this foundation your child will be able to achieve a greater
understanding when they reach formal schooling years. It will ensure they do not
get left behind and can begin to build on their foundational knowledge.
Can my child start mid-term?
Yes. You may enrol your child at any time. If you enrol more than half way through a term, you will be charged $15 for the cost of their book, plus $19.90 for each class remaining for that term. Fees must be paid for the remainder of the term, prior to their first class.
What are the teacher’s qualifications?
Corrina is a University qualified Early Childhood
Teacher with a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) and Bachelor of Education Studies.
She has worked with children from toddlers to Year 7 and has a strong understanding
of childhood development. Corrina is also a mother of 3 children
.
Where is it?
The
program is held at the South Pine Community Church in the air-conditioned creche
room. The church is located on the corner of Eatons Crossing and South Pine Roads
at Warner. Parents are welcome to stay on location. There is a playground out the
back where you are able to entertain young children while waiting.
Can I change class times?
If there are multiple programs running for each level, and the class is not already full, you will be able to change your program time to attend the alternate class. At the beginning of each term, enrolment numbers will be assessed and class times may need to be adjusted. We will contact you and try to ensure we can offer a suitable alternate time.
Am I pushing my child by sending them to this program?
No. The Begin Bright program
is based on having fun while learning. Often children are eager to start learning
to read and write, and attending this program will give them a great sense of satisfaction
and confidence.
